This album features the complete existing demos cut by Buddy Holly
before he signed his first commercial recording contract in January 1956, including
the four rockabilly demos sent to Nashville in December 1955 resulting in his
first contract with US Decca. Buddy plays rhythm, lead guitar and mandolin,
accompanying himself, Bob Montgomery, Jack Neal, Sonny Curtis and Ben Hall; the
complete Lubbock and Wichita Falls demos, made before sessions in Nashville, Clovis
and New York City and before the influence of The Crickets, Norman Petty and Maria
Elena. Includes his first known recording c.1949 singing Hank Snow's "My
Two-Timin' Woman" both in the usual edited version and the rarer unedited
cut. Also features covers of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and Elvis hits and
celebrated Holly-billy such as "Gotta Get You Near Me Blues", "Down
The Line", "I Wanna Play House With You" and the early demos of
songs he later cut commercially - "Don't Come Back Knockin'", "Love
Me", "I Guess I Was Just A Fool" and "Baby, Won't You Come
Out Tonight". A treasure trove of history in the making from this
popular and beloved performer! A vital piece of Rock n Roll history in the making!
Features, alongside Buddy, country and rock legends Bob Montgomery, Jack Neal,
Sonny Curtis and Ben Hall! Remastered in the classic Rev-Ola style! Beautifully
packaged with rare memorabilia and extensive notes from our man in the 1950s,
