On CD1 only Track 3 (Not Fade Away) is the originally released
format. Tracks 5 & 8 are Picks’ overdubbed versions & the
rest of tracks 1 to 10 do not feature Buddy Holly!
All the 'Crickets' numbers were recorded live in the 70s - several
weren't even written until after Buddy Holly's death.
The Picks overdubs are standard fare; again, the overdubbing
occurred after Buddy Holly's death; making the assumption he
would have wanted a homogenized sound across 40 tracks - while
the evidence of his late recordings shows that's far from the
truth.
This is a nasty, cynical attempt to make money out of Buddy
Holly by misleading, dishonest descriptions. Sleeve notes are
credited to Neil Kellas - I'm sure his mother loves him.
