Extracts from the sleeve note:
"Backstage, October 23, 1957"
"Buddy Holly and his group, the Crickets, were in Vancouver on their
first international tour. Billed as the Show of the Stars, the ticket
included Paul Anka, The Everly Brothers, Frankie Avalon, Buddy Knox and
Fats Domino. The Crickets were ushered onstage where they sang and played
three songs, bowed and left.
"This album contains a salute to their music and the fun of the
Crickets era. The group was never quite the same without the driving creative
force of its leader ... therefore what you hear between the interviews
with Buddy Holly on this historic package is a diffrent Crickets personnel
than offered by the original group. We added the flavor to give the listener
a feel for the man and his music."
